How to Register with Workforce
The first stage of the process is to contact your local office and chat to a consultant. They will talk to you about the type of work that you are interested in and the work that you have done in the past. In order to register you will need to come into the office for a face-to-face interview with a consultant. You will be asked to bring the following documentation with you:
Identification - Passport OR a full birth certificate accompanied by a P45, P60, National Insurance Card, or a letter from a government agency. If you are from outside of the UK you will need to bring proof of your right to work in the UK.
Proof of permanent National Insurance Number.
Bank details.
Details of your previous work history - including Company name and address, dates of work, duties & responsibilities.
References or contact details of at least two previous employers that we can contact to provide a reference.
Any licenses or certificates you need for the work you want to apply for.
This documentation is required by law so if you do not bring it with you, the interview will be cancelled and another appointment will have to be made.
Once your documentation has been checked, you will be asked to complete a set of application forms. It is very important that you complete these forms as fully as possible so that we can be sure of offering you a full range of work based on your skills and experience.
Depending on the type of work that you are interested in, you may be asked to complete some short skill tests. These are simple to complete and your consultant will be available to explain what you need to. If you have access to the Internet at home, it may be possible to arrange for these tests to be sent to you before you attend the interview.
Your consultant will then take you through your application and talk to you in more detail about the work you have done in the past and the sort of work you would like in the future. They will then explain the services that we offer and our terms of engagement. This will include assignments, timesheets, pay rates and how you will be paid, and what to do if you want to book a holiday or if you cannot attend work for any reason. You will also be given a Welcome to Workforce leaflet to take away with you.
After your interview we will need to get references for you before we can offer you an assignment. This is why we ask you to bring in names and addresses of suitable referees. If you can bring a written reference with you, this will speed up the process considerably.
Once your references have been checked, your details will be added to our register of available workers. Your consultant will contact you as soon as we get an assignment that matches your skills and experience.
Don't forget to keep in touch with your consultant regularly, especially if there are any changes to your contact details or availability for work.
